The crafty and cumbersome desktop computers have long been
replaced by the modern laptops. Nevertheless it is still felt that a reliable
device should be available when our portable machines are not available. Piixl
Jetpack is a new standalone computer for this purpose. It’s a flat computer
that can latch onto any LCD television.
The Piixl Jetpack is designed to fulfill the needs of a
dedicated media centre and double down as an effective gaming machine as well.
The machine will be running SteamOS and will be optimized for the operating
system. SteamOS is still in the developing stage but Piixl will release the Jetpack
in the next few months.
The Piixl Jetpack is completely flat and measures 2.5 inches
in thickness. Its unique form factor makes use of the popular VESA mount system
and can be attach itself to TVs ranging from 32 to 70 inches. It is a desired
appliance the price of which would start from $1000. Any graphics card of your
choice cab be attached to it because of its universal GPU capability.
The Piixl Jetpack is an intriguing device that will benefit
gamers. There are however consoles also available that have excellent graphics
and are available at half that price.
