The South Korean Smartphone LG G Flex maker says that by
2016 nearly 40 percent of the Smartphone market will have curved smartphones.
Thus they’ve launched the LG G Flex as a jump start. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy
Round which is curved from side to side. LG G Flex is curved vertically. Let’s
take a slightly detailed view of this device.
Design and Built:-
It has an impressive appearance with the rounded shape and
curved body. The back of the LG G Flex which is made of self healing material
is simple but attractive. LG say that the curved body can stand up to 88 pounds
of force, which speaks volumes of the engineering effort put into the
durability of its body.
The LG G Flex has a 6 inch display that features POLED
(Plastic organic light emitting droid) technology. The quality of the display
is real good. As is expected from OLED displays, the blacks are particularly
impressive. The colors are also nicely saturated.
Hardware:-
The LG G Flex is equipped with a snapdragon 800 quad-core
processor clocked at 2.26GHz accompanied by a full 2 gigabytes of RAM. Given
the 720p resolution of this device, the processor and RAM combo is perfectly
adequate with no shortcomings from the hardware.
Camera:-
It has a 13 megapixel camera at the back and a 2 megapixel
camera on the front. The quality of the camera is satisfactory.
Self-Healing ability of the LG G Flex is also able to mask
any light scratches which it may be exposed under different conditions.
Conclusion:-
Whereas the Galaxy Round was such a disappointment, the LG G
Flex appears to be much better designed and a more complete product. It is a
promising entry into the world of curved Smartphone displays. The curved
display actually helps in typing and navigating through web pages. LG G Flex is
expected to be the torch bearer of next-gen hardware from LG.
