Apple has begun repairing iPhone 5c damaged screens. iPhone
5c owners can now easily take their damaged or cracked screen for repair at the
nearest Apple Store for a flat fee. Since last year Apple has been doing this
for iPhone 5, and now they have updated their hardware and training necessary
to work with the newer models. Apple has done this to cut down their
replacement costs. It’ll cost owners without AppleCare+ $149 to get their
screens repaired and for those with AppleCare+ are said to cost $75. Most Apple
stores are now able to fix iPhone 5 and 5c models in-store, but there still
seems to be problems with the iPhone 5s. So for the time being, those with
broken 5s and 4s units will still have to either have their phones replaced, or
sent off-site for repair.
Tara Bunch the vice president of AppleCare said last year that they are making changes
in the AppleCare service and these changes can result in annual savings of upto
$1 billion. I am sure that these changes can be helpful for the Apple iPhone
users as well.
